Rock Throwing

I think this is my favorite picture from the trip. My boys. Throwing rocks into the bay in the sunset.
I. Love. It.

The Tree

Another of the tree... ever so slowly I'm getting to these pictures. Maybe I'll try to post one a day? Ha ha. We'll see.

A Tease

Over Thanksgiving we headed to San Francisco with Cal's family. Our last evening there we caught the sunset at the Berkeley marina. It was beautiful and I had fun snapping away.

A Few More Details

A few more macro shots, mainly because I don't have anything new to post...

Up Close and Personal

{Haley, these are for you. Because I want to see you.}

A long, long time ago I borrowed my Dad's macro lens and did some experimenting. Here's a few that I ended up with. The color made me happy in our snowy world.

Here's a couple more random shots that I've finally gotten around to processing.

Autumn

This season makes me really nostalgic. It reminds me of when I was in college in Utah. I had my Dad's old film SLR that I was learning on and would trek up Provo Canyon at least once a week to practice. More in the fall when the leaves were so colorful. It gave me space and peace from roommates and studying and dating. Occasionally I would bring someone, but usually it was just me. It let me breathe.

I loved that old camera, which is easily as old as me. I would crawl around on the ground trying to get interesting pictures and would often come home muddy and smiling and I think my roommates thought I was a little crazy. But it made me happy. It was the start of my real love of photography.

This last week I couldn't resist the pull of the mountains any longer so I packed up the car and headed out with my Zach-attack. Somehow it wasn't really the same with a 2 year old in tow, in the middle of the day, but we had our own kind of fun and it was beautiful!

When we got home he found "his" camera (an old digital one of Cal's that he gets to have) and hardly put it down for two days. "My camera like Mommy's. I take picture Mom." He was actually very creative with his pictures, crawling on his belly to get interesting shots. Maybe he'll love it too?

Orange Tahoe

The California fires gave us the pleasure of a gorgeous sunset at Lake Tahoe in late August. I was definately glad I had my camera.

Baby Cole

I was lucky enough to get to practice photographing a friend's new little 12 day old baby boy. He desperately tried to stay awake the entire time, although he closed his eyes just for a moment. He is so adorable and I can't wait to try some more!
